Self-care, Reflection, and a Puppy

Wow! If you’re anything like me, you’ve had a busy time this holiday season. It was a wonderful time spent with friends and family, some in person and others via technology with FaceTime.

The holidays keep things busy, but also, if you are a member of A Pilgrimage to Self or a follower of mine, you know that one of my main philosophies of life is to live with intention.

Some people don’t like establishing new year’s resolutions, but I do. My process is actually setting intentions for my year. For example, as I reflected on my past year, my personal goals, and professional goals, I came to the decision to “practice what I preach” by taking some extra time off for my own self-care, rest, and reflection.

As part of a challenge, I published something on the blog daily for 2019; however, for 2020, I’m intentionally planning to take the weekends off...so my intention is to publish Monday through Friday and for special occasions and events. This will free up hours of my time a month and help me with some of my other projects.

One of my new projects is a new golden retriever puppy that will come home later this month. I’m in the midst of puppy proofing my home and preparing for his arrival. I’ll share more soon, but for now, if you’ve ever raised a puppy, you know the extra love and work involved. So, I will intentionally be spending time with the new addition to my family.

If you follow me on social media, then you know my mission is to inspire, encourage, and support others on their journeys, and one major way for me to do this is by walking the same PATHS I hold members of my coaching program accountable for. So, I’ll be reinforcing my practice of following the philosophy of the Indian Proverb, A House With Four Rooms by actively writing about it and introducing it to as many people as possible. I know it will make a huge difference in the lives of followers, so my aim is to reach out and share with as many people as possible.

So, by setting my intentions for 2020, I have a calendar filled with events, celebrations, and possibilities. I’ll be sharing more in the days to come, but for now, if you haven’t taken a moment to look over your 2020 calendar, I want to encourage you to do so. Time is the most precious asset we have, yet we don’t know exactly how many decades, years, months, weeks, days, or moments we’ve been given; make your time a priority!

You can start right now by adding self-care, rest, and reflection time to your calendar. Schedule time for yourself, set your intentions for 2020, and do something daily for your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Here’s to 2020!

Until next time...

Cheers!

Lisa

The life philosophy of A House With Four Rooms suggests thinking of yourself as being four rooms: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual rooms. It advocates for doing something daily for your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
