Quick And Easy Ways To Treat Yourself

We all have tough days that leave us stressed, frustrated, and unable to relax. Bad days make us feel unbalanced, and a great way to start to make things right again is to treat yourself. It doesn’t really matter what you do or what you indulge in as long as it’s something that brings you joy.

 Keep Treats In Your Desk

Think about your favorite treats. This can be a snack or sweet like a little pack of cookies or a fancy bar of chocolate. I'm on a sugar detox, so maybe it can be a scented candle. Or how about a trashy magazine? Think about some little treats that you can keep on your desk or in your kitchen drawer for those days when you need a little something to cheer you up.

Go Get A Coffee Or Tea

When you need a treat on a busy day at the office, or while you’re out and about running errands, stop at your favorite coffee shop. Get one of these fancy coffee or tea concoctions that you usually skip. This isn’t an everyday thing, but instead, it’s a rare treat to put a smile on your face and help you get through the rest of your day.

Of course, if you’re home from work, you can replace that hot beverage with your favorite wine or beer. Just keep a bottle or two on hand for those days when you need a drink after work.

Close Your Eyes And Listen To A Favorite Tune

Shutting everything out for a little while isn’t a bad way to treat yourself. Music is a great way to drown out the noise around you, quieten the random thoughts in your head, and allow yourself to take it easy for a few minutes. Pick some of your favorite tunes and I bet you’ll be in a much better frame of mind after a song or two. What better way to take a short little break while you’re at the office, or helping the kids with homework.

 Take A Nap

When all else fails, go take a nap. I’m serious. Sometimes the most luxurious treat we can give ourselves is a little extra shut-eye. Even if you can’t actually go to sleep, you’ll feel relaxed and refreshed after laying down with your eyes closed. Sleep is a great way to de-stress and as an added benefit, sleeping helps your brain process everything that’s going on in your life.
