To Live Your Best Life, Look for Opportunities to Learn More and Continue to Challenge Yourself

In the last several posts, we've talked about the importance of looking for opportunities, ways to take risks and to challenge yourself for personal development. Doing these things helps you to grow as a person. It increases your confidence and helps you to gain new skills. You'll encounter people and experiences you otherwise wouldn't by staying in place. There are so many reasons you should look for opportunities to learn more and to challenge yourself. In today's post, I'd like to offer you some practical suggestions for ways you can actually start to find those opportunities. Start with these and then come up with some of your own ideas for creating the types of opportunities that will bring you closer to reaching your goals.

Do Something That Scares You

Why not take a big leap and do one thing that scares you? This exercise is even more effective if you can do it repeatedly until it starts to feel less scary. Think of something that feels intimidating to you. It can be in your personal or professional life. Then just give it a shot and see what happens. Make cold calls for work. Share your expertise with a group. Go out and talk to a stranger at happy hour. It doesn't matter what you do, just do something.

Take a Class

Lifelong learning is seriously important when it comes to self-growth and becoming the best version of yourself. Using your mind in new ways will make all kinds of unfamiliar experiences start to feel more attainable. You could discover your new favorite hobby or even transition a new skill into a career builder or business idea.

Stretch Yourself Physically

Get active in a new way. This is an especially relevant suggestion if you're currently rather sedentary in your life. When you try out a new exercise or start working out for the first time, you'll discover what your body is capable of. You'll also gain energy to tackle all the things on your to-do list.

Expose Yourself to Those Who Are Different

Traveling is a great way to learn about different cultures or perspectives. Understanding the ways in which the world works is key to becoming an emotionally intelligent person who can get along well with others. If travel isn't something you can do right now, that's okay. There are lots of ways to meet people from various backgrounds. Check out the community events in your area and plan to attend one that seems like it would attract a diverse crowd. Just get out there and meet people outside your normal social circles.

Today's the last day to register for A Pilgrimage to Self Lifestyle Coaching Membership because we close and focus on welcoming the new members taking action on designing their Intentional Lives. It's important no matter what you do, keep looking for opportunities to learn, improve and grow, make sure that you never stop challenging yourself. Getting comfortable leads to complacency and stagnation. You can't live your best life if you remain stuck where you are.
