Examples of Wealth That Aren’t Money Related

A wealth mindset isn’t just about money. As a matter-of-fact, most wealth has nothing to do with money at all. Money is a by-product of a wealth mindset. The wealth mindset encompasses every aspect of life - health, relationships, and your overall attitude about people in general. The philosophy of the Indian Proverb,  A House With Four Rooms, is to do something daily for your four metaphorical rooms: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual rooms for complete wellbeing.

The principles advocate for living from a place of abundance; this includes living with the knowledge that you are enough and you have enough...money, time, love, joy, etc....that you can be generous with your wealth.

Let’s look at some examples of wealth that aren’t money related:

A loving family- Having a family who loves you and chooses to spend time with you when there are a million other options is a true testimony to the wealth you have created. Spending time with loved ones is a marvelous way to spend time in your Emotional Room.

A healthy, functioning body- If you are fit, have excellent mobility, and enjoy an outdoor lifestyle, you are wealthy. Making the choices to eat well, exercise regularly, and be in nature are all examples of making good investments. Just like your money, making smart moves with your health reaps great returns. Make sure to visit your Physical Room daily.

High-functioning relationships- If you have friends you can count on and have healthy relationships with people in your inner circle, you are wealthy. True friendships come from investing time and energy. Being able to be a good friend and experience true companionship is a form of wealth equal to a six-figure income. This connection to "your people" allows you to brighten your Emotional Room.

A purpose-driven life- Those who have a purpose-driven life are wealthy. Knowing that there is more to life than immediate gratification and having a willingness to give creates wealth of another economy. Being willing to focus on a cause or a purpose creates a meaningful existence that surpasses what money can buy. I've experienced this phenomenon myself with my life as a teacher and mentor.

Being a generous person- Truly wealthy people are givers. It doesn’t take wealth to give. Sure, the more you have, the more you can give, but you don’t have to wait until you have an overflow to be generous. Being a generous person, no matter how small, creates a domino effect. Generosity breeds kindness, friendships, a sense of purpose, and a form of wealth money can’t replace. As a generous person, you put our motto into action: Let Kindness Ripple!

It’s a common mistake to believe that wealth is tied to economics. It makes sense that money is a measurement for how wealthy someone is materially, but no amount of money determines someone’s wealth in every area of life. How you do one thing is generally how you do all things. So, it goes to show that being focused on wealth in different areas of life will lead to wealth in your bank account, too.

At the end of the day, we only have one life to live and the choices you make create your life. You have the time and energy to put into anything you deem of value...this includes your family, friends, hobbies, communities, etc..  Make sure to Design and Live an Intentional Life. Be the person you are meant to be...kind, generous, and caring...YOU are wealthy!

What could you do today to extend and share your wealth? Tell your family that you love them, but do something to show them. Reach out to those special people in your life that you appreciate with a call, a card, a message, or email...let them know how you feel. Spread your wealth...others may feel wealthy counting YOU as a friend and special person, too. Share a walk...a conversation...a dance...don't let the precious moments slip away. Besides, when you share your wealth, it has a tendency to double!

Thank you for inspiring and encouraging me to continue to share my thoughts in this blog space; I appreciate the support and kindness that this "writing" relationship has bestowed on me.

Until next time, Cheers!

Lisa
