Values, Visions, and YOU

The philosophy of the Indian Proverb A House With Four Rooms is to think of yourself as having four rooms: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual rooms. It states that you must go into each of the four rooms daily for complete well-being. The proverb also warns of staying too long in one room over another or avoiding a room altogether...you must go into each daily, even if it is to open a window to “air” it out.

Following this proverb allows one to be more intentional, mindful, and purposeful with his or her life. As a life philosophy, it allows for creating healthy, joyful, and meaningful practices.

It has been a positive influence on my life, and for that, I'll be eternally grateful. The lessons I've learned have guided my journey and have helped me create systems, strategies, and routines that are the foundation of my life...my Intentional Life.

Living an Intentional Life begins with asking oneself questions...lots of questions. It also means spending time evaluating the answers and assessing needs, wants, desires, and dreams.

Essential questions of life are questions of values. Values outline what is important to us in terms of our conduct, our interaction with others, and how we might live our lives in a meaningful way. However, gaining insight into one’s core values can be a challenging task. However challenging, it facilitates awareness of values and self-care practices that enrich one's life.

A practice that I have is creating vision boards to represent my values and visions. A vision board is a collection of images, illustrations, and/or words that are symbolic to you...it creates a visual representation of all that you want to be, do, have, and achieve.

Over the years I have created many vision boards to help me with visualization exercises in all areas of my life. At the end of each year, I create a new vision board for the new year that includes the characteristics I want to behold, my values I choose to live my life by, and the abundance I'm grateful for in every area of my life.

When I stop and reflect on years past, I'm truly grateful for the Universal Truths, Abundance, and Achievements that have come to light...making my practice of creating vision boards very powerful to my Intentional Life

As this uncertain year of 2020 comes to a close, I've spent time reflecting over the year and have much more to be grateful for than what I've grieved...and when looking at my vision board, I see that I am abundant and blessed by the reality of most of my goals, dreams, and wishes.

Do you create vision boards for your life? I'd love to hear about your experiences.

I'm planning a vision board workshop to help accelerate connections with the values, visions, and abundance for 2021...are you ready to welcome a fresh new year?

Until next time...

Lisa
