Become Aware of Opportunities Around You and Make the Most of Them

Many of us find ourselves in survival mode as we deal with the chaos of our lives. Our day-to-day existence is constantly hurried. You can't seem to find a single moment for yourself, let alone time to concentrate on making the kinds of big changes you want for your life. I understand. I also know that opportunities of all sorts surround us every day. We simply don't know how to find them. I hope to help you overcome this obstacle in today's blog post. Join me to learn how to become aware of opportunities around you and make the most of them.

 Know What You Want

Before you can begin to notice opportunities, it's important that you have an idea of what it is you want in life. Taking some time to clarify your goals and what you would like to get out of life will help you to recognize opportunities that are in line with those desires. This is an essential first step with our coaching membership...it's important to find your purpose and set goals.

 Find Your Why

If you're unsure or unclear on your life's goals, it's a good idea to contemplate your "why." Ask yourself why it is you want a particular outcome. Doing so will help to provide insight into your motivations, making your purpose clearer.

 Get Out There

Opportunities aren't likely to just drop into your lap. Becoming active and involved in things that you're passionate about will help you put you in a place where connections are more likely to produce results. You'll meet people who are in line with your vision and can support you. Your unique gifts, interests, and skillsets will be visible. Serendipitous occurrences are more likely to happen when you're an active participant in your life.

 Don't Expect Perfection

Life is messy. We often find ourselves waiting for just the right moment to act...or for the perfect opportunity to arise in order to make a move. This type of thinking is limiting. Give perfection the boot and just go for it when you feel like something needs to change. This is your life, so write the next chapter...take the next step.

 Take Baby Steps

On that note, it's important not to become intimidated or overwhelmed by the idea of making a change. Even the smallest baby step can be enough to get started. Once you begin to take some kind of action, you'll begin to see a difference. Soon, you’ll probably even have the motivation to take on more. In A Pilgrimage to Self Lifestyle Coaching Membership, we learn the strategy of Kaizen...making small continuous improvements to progress towards our goals...and our future.

 Give More

One often overlooked piece of advice I'd like to share is to look for the chance to give to others whenever you can. This is particularly true if you're currently feeling like you're in a place of lack. We can almost always find some way in which our lives are bountiful or that we can offer assistance. Helping others in some way will provide you with a sense of competence and satisfaction. Don't expect anything else in return, as that would take away from your efforts. Simply putting positive effort into the world on behalf of others is enough to place you in the path of unforeseen opportunities.

Give these ideas a try. You may soon begin to see your world shift into an array of opportunities you'd never even considered.

Until next time...

Cheers!

Lisa
