 Early in my adulthood, I learned from reading author Rumer Godden the Indian Proverb that says “Everyone should think of themselves as a house with four rooms: physical, mental, an emotional, and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room every day, even if only to keep it aired, we are not a complete person.”

Much of my life I’ve referred back to this proverb, whether to remind myself or sharing its wisdom with others; as a teacher and success mentor, I’ve shared it with many people over the years.

I've gravitated towards the humanities for most of my life; I've studied the arts, literature, education, and psychology because my curiosity is vast. But not only that, I've relied on the humanities to help me get through some pretty tough times in my life. I still do.

As a practitioner of A House With Four Rooms, I follow the philosophy and do something daily for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. I have designed routines that help me stay focused on my purpose and goals; they allow me to go into each "room" daily. 

My life has grown over the years as I learned and developed new practices to enrich my life as I reconnected to my authentic self. I learned to set appropriate boundaries in my life, established a work/play balance, and designed my Intentional Life.

Now, I help others do the same. This is such rewarding work; I help others assess their belief systems, set boundaries, and find their purpose. The PATHS I've created help others design an Intentional Life.
