3 Ways to Support Others Who are Being Brave

3 Ways to Support Others Who are Being Brave

Facing your own hardships, especially during the pandemic, is a challenge. Developing bravery and coming through the fire with as few burns as possible is hard, but you can do it! Taking important steps to be the best you can be under less than ideal circumstances takes effort and a bit of luck. You know first-hand how hard it is. That makes you an excellent support person for someone else.

Supporting others who are being brave really matters. Doing what you can to be of help and encouragement can make all the difference in someone else’s fight. Being willing and able to make an impact might mean the difference between success and failure for someone else.

There are unlimited ways to support someone who is being brave. A few ideas could be:

  • Offering to listen
  • Offering to counsel
  • Offering to help

Everyone needs someone to listen- People who are facing difficult times often need a safe place to sort out their thoughts. Being open and willing to listen can make a big difference. Your willingness to allow someone to vent, cry, troubleshoot, or share their fears can help them move through their emotions and do whatever brave thing they must. Offer to support someone through their difficult time by providing a listening ear.

Everyone needs wise counsel- In the same way you rely on neutral wise counsel, you can be the same support to someone else. People who are facing difficult times aren’t always thinking clearly that’s why many of my clients turn to me for consulting services. I can provide wisdom and support by listening and helping them sort out their plan of action. You can do the same. Offer to support someone through their difficult time by providing wisdom and wise counsel when they need it.

Everyone needs a helping hand- Sometimes talk is cheap and what people really need is help. From practical help to the sort of help that takes you out of your way. Being willing and able to help someone who is facing a difficult time is important. Being able to count on people when times are tough can make all the difference when someone is suffering. Be willing to do what it takes to be part of the solution for someone who is being brave during a difficult time. You have the power to let kindness ripple.

Being brave is hard work. If you’ve faced a battle, you know how much it takes out of you. Being able to support someone else during their difficult time is an honor. Make sure you do what you can to support people who are doing their best to be brave and get through their own fires.

Let kindness ripple...during this pandemic, check on your neighbors, use Zoom to reach out to family and friends, be willing to listen, encourage, and support others.

Until next time...

Lisa
